Day 2 : Issaqueena Falls South Carolina.

On our second day of the trip, we ventured to Stumphouse Tunnel and Issaqueena Falls in South Carolina.

Our first stop was Stumphouse Tunnel, an intriguing historical site nestled in the picturesque landscape. Originally intended to connect Charleston to the Midwest, the tunnel remains unfinished, serving as a reminder of ambitious engineering endeavors of the past.

As we ventured into the depths of the tunnel, we couldn’t help but be captivated by its mystic atmosphere. Walking through the cold, dimly lit passage, the air filled with the sound of dripping water and our own echoing footsteps and breath. It felt as if we had stepped into another universe or a different time altogether.

From there, we made our way to the enchanting cascading Issaqueena Falls. It is named after a legendary Native American Girl figure called Issaqueena, who is said to have jumped off the falls on horseback to escape capture by enemy tribes.
Readind a lot of reviews about surrounded by lush greenery, offered a breathtaking sight, we made design use a short trail to go down to the base waterfall. The graund was so wetty and slippery that we almost slid on it. It was Sofia’s first mountan climbing adventure! She been cried but stubborny continued to climb down. I really prouded of Hers brave hart. The short route proved to be a strong test of family teamwork and physical endurance. But it was worth it!

We spent about an hour simply soaking in the sound of water, feeling the coolness and the mist created by the cascades, and capturing the moment with photographs.
